Volunteering at Sudbury Meadow
We always welcome new volunteers. Sudbury Meadow is cared for entirely by local people who give their time to keep it a great place for wildlife and visitors alike.
What’s involved
Work involves gardening and habitat maintenance e.g. weeding, clearing paths, tending shrub beds, hedge cutting, fruit tree maintenance and litter picks. Tools and guidance are provided.
Getting started
Come along to one of our Work Parties (listed on the Activities page) to see if it’s for you. Our activities are best suited to people with some experience of using gardening hand tools and who are reasonably physically fit. You will need to abide by our health and safety guidelines as well.
Friends of Sudbury Meadow
You can support Sudbury Meadow by joining Friends of Sudbury Meadow, volunteering with the group, or both. Either way, you’ll:
- Support a wildlife haven at the heart of St Neots
- Receive our events programme and the chance to get involved in a local community project
- Meet other people with similar interests
- Swap ideas about wildlife, gardening and conservation in a friendly, welcoming environment
- Get regular, healthy exercise with a purpose
Our volunteers and Friends members are a diverse group of local people who want to help protect and improve our wildlife habitats — whether that’s hands-on at the site, through financial support, or both.
